Captain's Log 1.1

So I'm currently blogging from a bus stop which I have been standing in for the last hour, my fingers and toes may have to be compromised. Why is it soo hard for a bus that usually running every 10 mins to actually run on time? Bit of snow on the ground and everything goes to pot. National express West Midlands ought to be ashamed of their service. As ip am currently late for work I'm even more fuming at the fact that a lorry has just covered me in snow :( over and out

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean

Platform: 3DS
Developer: TT games
Release date: 13th May 2011

Captain Jack is back with his swashbuckling band of pirates ready to sail the high seas and cause mischief. This action-adventure game hops from the decks of the black pearl to the shores of tortuga. Presented with a huge aray of characters from all four movies the aim is to find the right scurvy dog for the job, defeat the bad guys and gain the legendary title of 'true pirate'. Similarly with all Lego games blocks are built into useful items like cannons and helms, there is even a mini game where you must defeat notorious bad guys such as captain Barbosa which involves mashing buttons :)

This single player game (unless online where you can battle people on streetpass or vs and co-op online if both players have the game card) has a relatively easy difficulty with some difficulty in choosing the correct character for each job. Battling on streetpass is rather fun as your fighting random people you pass in the street.

The game length is longer then the usual Lego game as it covers all four films as mentioned before, memorable scenes from each film is played out. However it does have quite a few load screens which seem to take a while to load. The game doesn't not allow you to save where you left off and you have to finish the whole level before it will save.  With a game rating of 7, this means it is not suitable for children under the age of 7 as it is primarily a fighting game which may not be suitable for younger children.

The game is able to be played over and over again through free play or replaying the levels which changes the score you previously received. If you collect the right amount of yellow coins you get the title of 'true pirate'! Navigating throughout the game is easy by just using the joystick however using the remote gaming controls prove more difficult as you have to choose the correct character for the job in hand.  Swimming and Diving is also easy as long as you remember to walk by the golden clam to refill your oxygen supply (something I regularly forgot..oops).

Graphics in the game are clear and crisp, they are not lifelike as you know Lego games are cartoon and not expected to be lifelike. Sound in the game is also just as clear however is not lifelike and as in all Lego games (with the execption of batman 2) none of the characters speak, they grunt.

The cut scenes are similar to that of scenes in the films, as a Pirates of the Caribbean fan it was nice to see them portrayed in the lego media. The characters do not speak :( The manuals I got with this game were the usual leaflets about healthy and safety and the controls which are diplayed throughout the game.

I rated this game ♥♥♥/♥♥♥♥ as my expectations the game were that it was going to be just like the films which are oar-some ;) if I had thought of them as two different medias then I may have enjoyed the game more. There was a lot of swimming and diving in the game which annoyed me as to make it more lifelike you have an oxygen bar which I find irritating as its Lego i would have felt differently if it was  a real person I was playing as. The characters not speaking ruined the cut scenes for me but as this is a trademark of Lego games I can just about deal with it :). Overall I did enjoy the game and the challenges it presented. This game is more suited to younger children but many children will enjoy this game. A decent game  which is definately worth trying, borrowing or buying owned :)

Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes

Hey Guys :)
So decided to have a sort of theme to my blog as I think my life is quite boring to just chat about. I'm going to do sometime reviews and as this is my first one it may be rubbish but hey I tried XD.

Lego Batman 2: DC superheroes
Platform: 3DS
Manufacturer: TT Games
Format: Action-adventure

As Batman returns in this much awaited sequel he brings back some friends to help him rid the streets of Gotham of evil, these friends include: Robin, Superman, Wonder woman, Green Lantern, Flash and Cyborg. Against the popular gameplay of Lego games the characters actually speak :0 this isn't the only change that Lego have made as the game it is now one continuous story expanding brick by brick as your free to roam the city of Gotham. Roaming is made easier by the choice of an unlockable vehicles including the batmobile, Batwing and batboat. The dynamic duo of Batman and Robin confront a variety of villains before the final battle with the infamous Joker.
The difficult of the game is generally easily with some puzzles when you meet the Riddler, the difficulty is unchangeable. It is enabled to be played online; 1-2 players are able to play on local networks and is available on streetpass vs or co-op. Both players must have the game card to play online.
With a game rating of 7 meaning it is suitable for people over the age of 7, however due to the nature of the game there is a lot of violence and fighting.
Chapters in this game are quite short and the game seems to be over before you know it. I finished the game within 3 days this is between  a full time time and other commitments. During these three days I was able to save the game and pick up where I let of proving I had met a save point.
The game allows you to switch characters meaning you can carry out special moves needed complete special tasks. After each level that is unlocked it is available for free play although I believe  it would be too boring to replay the game over and over as it is transport and you would come to the same conclusion each time.
Navigating within the game is simple and gaming remote controls are relatively easy providing you've the right character to preform the action; sometimes I found this quite difficult to remember which character had which special move and you have to switch through all of them find out which one you need.
The graphics the game are to a high quality and the 3d on this game is awesome, images are not lifelike which is displayed on the cover of the game, it is a cartoon which is traditional with the Lego collection of games. The sound is very clear however sound effects do not sound real. However characters do speak in this game and they're very clear. A lotof the time I find the backing music on games very irritating but this one I did not, although it is not wise to have volume on in socially awkward situations such as the bus :/ and dont make your own sound effects people do look at you like you've escaped the asylum :(
It has a strong story line and many cut scenes proceeding each chapter in the story; some say cut scenes are a bit of a rest before the next challenge. However dont think that this is a particularly challenging one; the cut scenes added a bit of excitement to the game, As they engage interest and are action packed.
The manuals that come with the game are the usual controls and agreements that are in every game I do not think these are necessary as everything in these booklets are in the game and you are reminded at certain points in the game.

I give this game ♥♥♥/♥♥♥♥. I brought this game as have an unhealthy obsession with batman and my expectations of the game were a higher then what I experienced. I did however enjoy the game and the challenges it presented. I liked the fact there was an aray of characters withered own special moves and the fact they speak was an added bonus. This game is more suited to younger children and many children will enjoy this game. Overall a good gaming experience, a good buy and definately a recommended game!

Professor Layton and McFlurries <3

Well after my third day of "resting" on the sofa :( However I have completed Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask on the 3ds which I must say although knowing who the masked gentleman from am early point was, the game was very entertaining :) The puzzles in this game do continue to get better and harder and have yet to see a similar one. I love the introduction of the daily puzzles but is assume most people like me forget to update daily and have loads to do all in one go which suits me. I am yet to finish these obviously as they are published daily, I do however look forward to these updates. When I finished the game I looked at how many hours I had spent on the game this shocked me, having the game since January I have been playing other games whilst playing this one but i have racked up a whooping 29 hours and 52 mins. This honestly has shocked me :0

McFlurries a thing I useful to love but have not had one for a while and I now remember why, the effort the put into making the things is absolutely shocking. The picture below (supposidly a dairy milk caramel, and yes that is my onezie;) ) shows how shit they have become and quite frankly I was discusted by the look of it and I can safely say; sorry Ronald McDonald but this will be my last :(

Noobie <3

Soo...as you can tell by the title of this post I am new to blogging but would like to get into it :)
So a bit about me that's me in my onezie, for now I have red hair but am quite likely to change it as I have had many colours over the years. I currently work in a coffee shop for a charity called Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge. The charity cares for terminally ill people and their families making them comfortable in either the 10 bed in patient ward or in the day therapy unit. I have worked for them for nearly two years and enjoy working there as I get to meet different people every day, some of them are quite interesting as in talk to yourself interesting ha ha!
I also do a HNC business course which I am enjoying very much, as part of my course I am planning a charity ball and auction to be held on the 19th April at the village hotel. This will probably feature quite frequently in this blog.
Photography is a great passion of mine and hopefully I will be able to get some of my photos into some blogs :)
Today I had a bit of a scare and ended up in my local accident and emergency where I was given an ECG (heart trace) the nurses were a bit worried so I had to wait to see a doctor, the doctor said he didn't think there was a problem but if it was to happen again I was to see my GP for a heart function test. Obviously this is quite worrying but I'm keeping in high spirits, staying positive. It did mean that I got to spend today on the sofa, blanketed watching big bang theory <3
